ABC and the “Great
Game”
9/11 and the swift-boating of Truth

Congratulations to Karl Rove and the president of Disney/ABC for the
fine outstanding piece of work called “the path to 911”. Although
Karl isn’t as of yet directly connected to this brilliant piece of
filmmaking, it bears his mark.
It’s all from Karl Rove’s playbook which the Neocon machine has
followed over and over again to the letter. One has to admire
tactics that are outstandingly successful almost every time they’re
used and the coach who practices them.
If you’re a chicken-hawk and you’ve received five deferments from the
daft as Cheney did, or you got your rich dad to ease you into the
national guard when they weren’t fighting any wars as Bush did,
and you’re
worried about how that looks in an upcoming election, you simply
swiftboat your opponent who was actually in a war.
If you don’t like the intelligence reports, memos, and letters a
particular agency is giving you, information which will prevent you
from achieving your “plausible deniability”, you simply attack them for
their good works, purge those who won’t cooperate and blame the various
disasters they predicted on the very intelligence organization that
tried to warn you in the first place.
So if you’re the one responsible for 9/11. If it’s your man in
the oval office who ignored all the evidence
he was receiving
practically daily regarding the impending attack, who has personal,
financial and
political ties with the families who financed al Qaeda, who actively
stonewalled investigations into these families and al Qaeda prior
to
9/11, who ordered those very same families flown
out
of the
country
days after 9/11, and who took one year, dragging his feet all the
way, to set up a commission
to
investigate the events of 9/11 – naturally you’re going to blame
someone else.
And just like all the prior plays from the Karl Rove playbook; the
Neocon's and Disney/ABC’s plan is designed to serve two purposes, One:
is to
put those in the opposing party on the defensive. Two: is to cover up
what those in the attacking party have done.
In the swift boating case the Neocons, One: put John Kerry on the
defensive
and Two: covered up their own abysmal lack of participation in active
military service.
In the attack and vilification of the CIA the Neocons, One: enabled
themselves
to gut the one agency which might have stood in their way and report on
their activities and Two: covered up their own involvement with 9/11.
In the attack on Clinton and the Democrats in "the path to 9/11" the
Neeocons and Disney/ABC,
One: enabled themselves to put the Democrats on the defensive….. again,
and Two: laid the ground work for the Neocons own defense if any
investigations of 9/11 should arise later on.
It is actually a brilliant ploy, despite the Democrats and most of the
“mass media’s” ongoing cooperation in refusing to investigate what
happened prior to, during, or after 9/11, the Neocons were sufficiently
worried that if the Democrats should actually achieve power they would
back out of their five year tacit agreement and begin a series of
investigations.
Also the Neocon's and Disney/ABC’s tactics serve a very important third
purpose, that of obstruction and obfustication. Should the
Democrats actually achieve control of both houses of congress and began
any investigations, this little preemptive mini-series will serve
as the Neocons talking points, a political “he said-she said” debate, a
“they did it also so you can’t blame us” argument.
To be honest though, knowing the Democrats, it is most unlikely that
they will achieve a sufficient number of seats to control both houses
of Congress. Even if they did it is unlikely they would mount any
serious investigations of the events leading up to 9/11 since they get
their money from the Military-Industrial-Oil-Complex and the Saudi
Royals just like the Neocons do.
One has to admire Disney/ABC’s courageousness however; to actually help
the current party in power cover up and obstruct their involvement with
9/11, knowing that there’s a chance - albeit a small one - that
the apposing party could win in the upcoming elections.
For a company whose ABC's head quarters is based in New York to
actually
spit on the very faces of those who died in that city; to give a
sarcastic one-fingered salute to the brave men and women in the Police
and Fire departments who sacrificed their lives on 9/11 shows a moxy I
didn’t thank a timid, bland, ossified corporation like Disney/ABC was
capable of.
This is a form of corporate capitalist leadership we should all admire.
So again congratulations and kudos to Disney/ABC, their employees,
Disney/ABC’s contractors and advertisers for their cynical fact-less
mock-u-mentory of those who died on 9/11.
You should all be very proud of yourselves.
