And Saudi Arabia is the new strategic go-between." ** "As alliances shift, Iran wins".....Only if you consider having the country next door to you permanently occupied by over 140,000 crazies ++ who have systematically and deliberately devastated the country they're occupying, help kill over a million of it's inhabitants, displace over five million more, are building five gargantuan military bases, all the while constantly threatening you with nuclear annihilation as a "win". That sort of outcome normally wouldn't be considered a "win" in most geostrategic calculations. Leaving all that aside however, it does appear that Iran, a nation where Shi'a is the majority religion, will have better relations with the predominantly Shi'a government in Iraq than they did with Saddam. That's not saying much. ++ Some people may object to the term "crazies". For them this editor will try to be as blunt as possible. You are not "helping" people by using white phosphorus, cluster bombs, daisy cutters, smart bombs. etc. on targets in civilian areas all the while casually saying it's just “collateral damage”. You are not "helping" a country when you cause over three hundred billion dollars worth of damage to their infrastructure, deliberately bomb newspaper offices, sewage plants, roads, bridges while creating death squads, prisons like Abu Ghraib, separation walls and spending more money on all of this activity then any of your prior wars except WWII Jack the Ripper was not making "love" to the women he sliced open and their screams were not screams of "passion". Ted Bundy was not showing his gals a "good time". John Gacy was not being "funny as a clown" for those children he got his hands on, Charles Manson was not "admiring" the rich when he visited them in their homes, and the 140,000 "crazies" in Iraq ARE NOT "HELPING" the Iraqi people by being there. A word of advice for those people out there who still do not understand this rather simple concept, those that think they're actually "helping" -- a family let's say -- when they lie about them, spread false accusations against them, break into their home, kill members of that family, try to squat there and steal their property despite that family's best efforts to have you all removed, all the while petulantly telling the entire town that if they don't let you stay there and be allowed to steal that family's property, you'll burn the whole town down....the word of advice is, you should all go seek psychological consoling immediately, or better yet turn yourselves in before you kill or steal again. - mpg |
