Erosion of Democracy and Freedom In America
Quote...."On December 8, 1941, President Franklin Roosevelt addressed the US Congress the day after the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. He said that "date....will live in infamy" because of what the naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan did. Two and one-half months later on February 19, 1942, FDR himself committed an infamous act signing into law Executive Order 9066 which authorized the internment of 120,000 Japanese civilians, two-thirds of whom were US citizens. These Americans committed no crimes and were only "guilty" of being of Japanese ancestry and thus by presidential edict were judged potential enemies of the state. Because of FDR's action, these otherwise ordinary peace-loving Americans lost all their sacred constitutional protections including habeas corpus and their rights of trial by jury and to own and keep their property. They also lost all their other freedoms and were treated like criminals. They were sent against their will to concentration camps where they were interned for the duration of the war until 1946."

And just remember....this is the "long war".

The Dark Night Descends
A quote, quoted by the article...."Each step was so small, so inconsequential, so well explained or, on occasion, 'regretted,' that unless one understood what the whole thing was in principle, what all these 'little measures'. . . must some day lead to, one no more saw it developing from day to day than a farmer in his field sees the corn growing. . . . Each act. . . is worse than the last, but only a little worse. You wait for the next and the next. You wait for one great shocking occasion, thinking that others, when such a shock comes, will join you in resisting somehow."

Welcome to Fascist America!
A quote...."My fellow Americans, it’s official now: We live in a fascist nation."

"Now, the term "fascist" has been thrown around over the last fifty years in a loose way that has drained it of much of its meaning. If someone wanted to cut 5% off of a leftist professor's favourite welfare programme, the professor would call his opponent a "fascist." I’m not using the word like that. I mean honest-to-goodness, old-fashioned, 1930s style fascism......"

WARNING - ALERT - updated 10-20-06
HUGE! Bush Guts Posse Comitatus, Grabs National Guard!
This is serious - considering the pending elections, the potential for massive voter fraud, a possible upcoming war with Iran, the need for an additional "enabling event" and the recently passed military commissions act.....this could portend a serious threat to this nation.

Homeland Security Tightens Grip on International Travel
A quote...." The Department of Homeland Security proposed  new rules back in July that would fundamentally undermine the right of American citizens to travel abroad. Public carriers--airlines, cruise lines, even fishing boats--will be required to submit the names of all passengers to Homeland Security prior to departure and to obtain permission from Homeland Security to board those passengers. These new rules will take effect January 14, 2007. "

Habeas Corpus may still be protected by international treaty...see below.

Habeas Corpus protected by Treaty of United States
A quote...."Citizens of the United States are protected under The Treaty on International Covenant of Civil and Political Rights, ratified by the Senate of the United States on September 8, 1992, in Senate Resolution 102-23. Further, statments made in the Senate Resolution re-establish protections of the Bill of Rights to Citizens of the United States."

"A copy of the 1967 UN Covenant may be obtained from the UN Library, and a copy of the Treaty may be found at The State Department."

They have already constructed the camps in the U.S. for "disloyal Americans"and as they put it, they have already drawn up plans for a "civilian inmate labor program".
