Inside the minds of the wealthiest one percent.

Ah yes, an Iranian war would be so deliciously timely right about now.....Iraq just isn't big enough, it's not generating enough inflationary pressures.

It would be a terrible tragedy, a catastrophe if we, the glorious wealthy elites, the one percent who you all worship should suffer a decline in our "asset valuations" due to (gasp! shock! horror!) deflationary pressures.  The scourge we the wealthy have throughout history tried so strenuously to avoid. We have done this with the knowledge that nothing should be allowed to eclipse our guiding light, to prevent you peasants from basking in the shining glory of the vast sums we have wrested from you.

Think about it....90% of you don't own the wealth in this country, you simply work to maintain it, in other words you work for us.  Now because you have so little money left to help keep the economy afloat, because we've squeezed almost every last drop out of you we’re going to have to demand our payments in blood. Therefore as we’ve done almost every economic cycle during the last sixty years, we are now duty bound to sacrifice some of you "little people".  Oh don't worry we won't sacrifice you directly, we won't dirty our pristine hands by even getting near you peasants, no for such menial drudgery we'll just hire one half of you to kill off the other half.  In this country or others it makes no difference to us as long as we get our profit.

Of course we would never think of trying to fight deflationary pressures by actually paying you peasants more money, or investing in this country's infrastructure or medical and educational facilities....such concepts are so gauche, vulgar and demeaning it's beneath our dignity to even think about them, better that you peasants simply be put to death in our various wars, or be allowed to die through neglect as occurred in our response to hurricane Katrina  - especially all of you disgustingly colored peasants - than we be forced to contemplate such awful concepts.

Why do you think we've refused to provide armor for you when you go off to fight our wars, why do you think we've prevented you from even buying your own?  Why do you think we've cut your V.A. benefits and refused to provide sufficient numbers of you in our various invasions?

It's because we need these wars to be stretched out, because the economic stimulus needs to be gradual, because we need to conduct these wars on the cheap.  If the first mild pulse of economic expenditures fail, if we cannot reap sufficient profits from our conquered territories, if deflationary pressures continue to threaten, why than we must spend additional treasure to conquer more lands.

Like the blood spilled from all the innocents killed in our adventures, more and larger economic pulses are needed to pump, prime and lubricate the wheels of commerce until a smoothly running balance is achieved.  Like a bicycle should we the wealthy of this nation fail in our duties to timely sacrifice some of you to continue this economic pumping action, than just like a bicycle the economy will fall down.

Many of you will say what about the extra debt that's incurred won't that cause deflation? Not in most cycles, as one of our lackeys Cheney once stated "debt doesn't matter."   Ever year, encouraged by us, you peasants pile more debt onto yourselves and every ten year cycle our wars have to become bigger to prevent any deflation.  We’ve even passed a draconian bankruptcy bill to make sure you peasants pay back what you've borrowed.  We tried to pass legislation to make illegal’s into felons, if we had they would have become our slaves and worked for us at slave wages, but our servents in congress failed us.  It doesn't matter anyway; eventually we'll pass the New Indentured Services Act and/or draft most of you into our upcoming wars.

You must understand we need these wars to maintain the social order, we need the vast expenditures to line our own pockets as a necessity for maintaining our status in society, and most importantly we need both the wars and the expenditures to help fight any deflationary pressures.

Only after the destructive phase of the economic cycle is complete, only after we are assured that a deflationary cycle will not take hold, only after we've looted the treasury and squeezed every last penny from you, only then will we the wealthy grant you peasants a reprieve from your.....or should we say our.. killing spree.  After which if you wish to vote for some silly politician who is deluded enough to think he's not under our control, who may actually believe government is there to serve the "people" and not the "wealthy"..... you may do so.  We'll let you have your little fantasies, we may even let them pass a few bits of legislation to help you.

But understand quite clearly, even if we have to start ten wars, kill, torture and maim hundreds of millions of people, destroy our nation's infrastructure, values, laws, and pervert our religions and those of all the other nations throughout the world, even if the dollar has to lose value, even if your standard of living has to be chopped in half, even if we have to kill a million of you, even if inflation becomes a threat, all of these actions would be infinitely preferable to the awful tragedy of any of our wealthy brethren losing value from their stock portfolios, bonds portfolios or real estate holdings.

We are your guides after all, we know what's good for you, we who are the mighty ones, the ones who take care of you like the little children you are.  As so many of you who worship us rightfully say...we are your thousand shining points of light

And for all the misery, impoverishment and deaths we shall graciously impose upon you, for the gratitude you will give to us for what we shall do to you ..... we shall NEVER thank you....... because it's your lot in life to serve us so, it's been preordained, it's your destiny.
