The Flood of Kabul-Sh-t Trigger-Happy in Afghanistan
Must Read - A quote...."The brain disease sweeping the West is virulent and vicious, like the golden Staph which haunts so many hospitals. Most at risk are Presidents, Prime Ministers, Generals and journalists. The ailment is not triggered by bacteria but by an ideology as old as history, which every so often resurfaces as a new strain, and this one hasn’t been named. It’s often fatal. Less so to the carriers than those caught in their sights. Let’s call it Kabul-shit – the propensity to ignore the years of violence inflicted on Afghanistan and to paint the invaders as heroes." -- By the way folks, that video, which "Three years later, in October 2004, a video was delivered to Al Jazeera in which bin Laden claimed responsibility for the 9/11 attacks" was probably a fake. -- For more on that issue....US Fake Intel / Propaganda - al Qaeda Videos

Re. 9/11 Launching the International Campaign for Mounir El Motassadeq By Elias Davidsson
Special Note - Related Article - A quote...."Dear friends, The Committee for Mounir el Motassadeq launches today an international campaign for the reopening of his case, after a Hamburg (Germany) court sentenced him to 15 years in prison, for allegedly helping his friends, Mohamed Atta and Co. to prepare the attacks of 9/11. Mounir is doubly innocent. First, he did not know anything of the preparations for 9/11. And second, there is not a shred of evidence that his friends, Mohammed Atta and Co. participated in the attacks of 9/11. -- By demanding the reopening of the trial, it is our aim to force a judicial determination that there exists no evidence of Muslim participation in the attacks of 9/11." -- Well that's a bit of an exaggeration, Muslims (perhaps not observant Muslims) certainly "participated" in 9/11.  The question is who helped to plan and facilitate their attack, who paid them to carry it out, and who profited from their actions.  Also known as Means, Motive and Opportunity. – mpg

Fifty questions on 9/11

The "global war on terror" is still on, renamed "overseas contingency operations" by the Barack Obama administration. Obama's "new strategy" - a war escalation - is in play in AfPak. Too Many 9-11 Commission Questions Still Unaswered

Here are 40 experts, including Commission members, who share their misgivings about the 9/11 Commission and the questions left unanswered:"

Bin Laden: The Forbidden Truth
Special Note - Book Review - A quote...."Under the influence of United States oil companies, the government of President George W. Bush initially blocked intelligence agencies' investigations on terrorism while it bargained with the Taliban on the delivery of Osama bin Laden in exchange for political recognition and economic aid, two French intelligence analysts claim. -- In the book, "Bin Laden, La Verite Interdite" (Bin Laden, the Forbidden Truth), [GoglBkSrch] that was released recently, the authors, Jean-Charles Brisard and Guillaume Dasquie, reveal that the Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) Deputy Director John O'Neill resigned in July in protest over the obstruction."

9/11 Training Exercise Planned for Simulated Plane Crash Five Minutes before Pentagon Attack Took Place
A quote...."Five minutes before the Pentagon was hit on September 11, 2001, a training exercise being run by a US intelligence agency just over 20 miles from the Pentagon was set to include the scenario of a small private jet plane crashing into a building. It is unclear whether the scenario was played out, or if the exercise had been called off by that time."

Explosive Theory
A quote...."JUST A FEW YEARS ago Ed Munyak, a fire protection engineer for the city of San Jose, seemed like a lonely, out-there figure, a sometimes-target because of his outspoken position on the events of Sept. 11, 2001. These days, hundreds of other building trade professionals have joined him in challenging the official narrative about the collapse of three buildings at New York's World Trade Center (WTC) on that fateful, traumatic day. -- Munyak, of Los Altos Hills, is a mechanical and fire engineer whose job is to review building plans to ensure they comply with the California Building and Fire Code. In 2007, after speaking out on his own for a few years, Munyak signed on with a then-fledging organization called Architects and Engineers for 911 Truth (AE911 Truth), founded by Bay Area architect Richard Gage. -- Today, far from being isolated, Munyak now counts as allies 804 professional architects and building engineers from around the country. Collectively, they have joined Munyak's call for an independent technical investigation of the causes of the WTC buildings collapse."

Metrics of Monstrosity: Free Falling in Afghanistan
Must Read - A quote...."The Grand Guignol in Afghanistan plays on, growing ever more absurd and macabre. A farcical election that makes the recent balloting in Iran -- the subject of such stern denunciation at the imperial court in Washington -- look like an exercise of the strictest civic probity. A "counterinsurgency" doctrine that churns out insurgents like an assembly line, manufacturing discontent with mass murders of civilians, and armed support of vicious warlords and corrupt officials. Influential voices on influential platforms calling for the establishment of an extermination program that killed up to 40,000 innocent people the last time it was tried. A skulking, scheming general hoping to parlay two disastrous wars into a run for the presidency. A failed "surge" about to be re-"surged" with thousands of more troops and billions upon billions of more public dollars poured into the pockets of contractors, weapons dealers -- and vicious warlords and corrupt officials. A weak and feckless president, who -- just like the cool, good-looking progressive played by Robert Redford in "The Candidate" -- obviously had no program or principle beyond getting elected, and is plunging headlong into a quagmire created by his despised predecessor, using the same war team, the same policies, and the same shifting, bogus "justifications" for continuing -- and widening and deepening -- a conflict so ruinous and pointless that even some of the Empire's most gung-ho cheerleaders are getting the vapors about it."

The Sham Debate Over Obama's Af-Pak War
Must Read - A quote...."“Obama has not altered the Bush war on terror paradigm, he has reinforced it.” -- With the help of cooperative corporate media, President Obama attempts to create the impression of a vigorous internal debate within his administration over how much bigger the so-called Af-Pak theater of war is going to get. The charade is designed to demonstrate that, unlike the “dumb wars” that Obama opposes, this one is being transformed into a smart war, intelligently escalated. That U.S. troop levels will increase, even as reluctant European allies move towards downsizing their commitments, is a foregone conclusion, since the president has already characterized the conflict as a “war of necessity.” If a war is necessary, then by definition, the national commitment must be open-ended and beyond question." -- also posted at OhBummer

How Many Dead Non-White Civilians Does It Take for the U.S. to Notice? Putting the Kunduz Massacre in Context -- Must Read - Warning, grim photos. -- A quote...."The magic cut-off is revealed to be about 30-40. Such revealed facts tell far more than mere words. Questions About Reporter's Rescue in Afghanistan
Must Read  - A quote...." Negotiators were "optimistic" that Farrell and Munadi would be freed within days, without payment of a ransom. Hostage-taking is a long-standing Afghan practice and almost always ends with captives being freed in exchange for money after days or weeks of haggling. But in this case, sources tell TIME, the senior Taliban commanders of Kunduz were "acting reasonably" and seemed willing to hand the reporter and his aide over without a payoff. (See pictures of election day in Afghanistan.) -- Hours before the British raid, Munadi was allowed to place a cell-phone call to his worried parents to reassure them that he and Farrell would soon be released. When the British commandos made their surprise attack on the house where the pair were being held, the two men rushed out. Munadi died in the firefight, shouting, "Journalist! Journalist!" Farrell recounted to his Times colleagues in Kabul. "He was lying in the same position as he fell," Farrell said. "That's all I know. I saw him go down in front of me. He did not move. He's dead. He was so close, he was just two feet in front of me when he dropped."

Candid Cameron and Hague recorded attacking 'naked fraud' in Afghanistan - Whoops!
Don't you just love these moments folks, when accidentally, every once and awhile, we get to peek behind the curtain of lies that shrouds our so-called "democracy". Ummmm, ummmmm good. – mpg -- A quote...."The Conservatives moved to clarify their position on Afghanistan today after David Cameron and William Hague were filmed making scathing comments on the conduct of the election. - In his private chat with Mr Hague, that was picked up by a BBC crew, the Tory leader spoke of “naked” irregularities in the poll. - He was heard to say that disparities between the number of votes cast and the number of people who voted “could not be right”. - Mr Cameron was recorded as saying: “The things that seem to have happened are so naked, you know, you just saw the number of votes and the number of people who actually turned up at polling stations. It just could not possibly be right.”  -- also posted at WarInIraq

European Leaders Call for Conference to Assess Progress in Afghanistan
A quote...."In a letter to U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, the leaders said the conference, which they suggested take place outside Afghanistan under U.N. and Afghan sponsorship, would facilitate agreement on "new benchmarks and timelines" for gradually turning responsibility for the country over to Afghans. -- The letter, dated Tuesday and released Wednesday by the office of French President Nicolas Sarkozy, coincides with growing European concern about the direction and objectives of the international enterprise in Afghanistan. It clearly suggested that decisions should not be left solely to the United States, which fields about two-thirds of the nearly 100,000 foreign troops there. -- bold by website editor

"Undoing the Imperial Presidency" -- Reviewing David Swanson's "Daybreak"
Book Review - A quote...."    "I'm the president and the commander-in chief. Do (things) my way. Stop throwing the Constitution in my face. It's just a goddamned piece of paper." Both parties acceded. The administration got away with murder. Separation of powers were abandoned. Checks and balances barely exist. Lawlessness became the new standard, and the republic took a giant step backward toward despotism and dystopia under a culture of violence, police state laws, and a Wall Street-run asset-stripping system - parasitically destroying America, wrecking the economy for profit, and forcing the public into permanent debt peonage.  --  Swanson's book ["Undoing the Imperial Presidency and Forming A More Perfect Union, Daybreak" - GoglBkSrch] is a call to arms for change, an alert about what's wrong with the nation, the urgency to restore the rule of law, save the republic, and necessity to get engaged enough to matter. After eight years under Bush - Cheney and Obama's early months, the government is more than ever corrupted, imperial, and extremist. Undoing the damage will take years of committed effort, and Swanson explains how:" -- also posted at Uruknet

The Gun-Grabbers Are On the Move Again

Today, the gun-grabbers are on the Alan Carubamove again and are being led by the Obama regime. -- During last year’s campaign both Hillary Clinton and John McCain tore into Barack Obama for saying that residents of small-town America "cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them out of bitterness over lost jobs.” -- Obama quickly retreated from that statement, but it revealed his real thinking and real feelings about people who own guns for any reason, as well as his contempt for people whose religious values are an important part of their lives. Health Care and the Free Market
Must Read - On the health care issue -- No advertisements by doctors comparing prices for their services, you have to get a prescription to get your medicine, you can't get your drugs from cheaper sources like Mexico or Canada, the list is endless.  There never was, nor will there ever be, a free market in this country for health care and everyone should take note that the Anti-single payer contingent have never discussed any Pro-free market policy suggestions....that’s because they’re aren’t any, except to give the HMO’s and pharmaceutical companies every single tax payer dollar this nation has. The Anti-single payer advocates are just hypocrites, every single one of them.  - mpg  -- A quote...."With millions unemployed, and health care costs rising through the roof, and the only answer ever given to unemployment is 'go back to school', why are there still so few medical schools that 1/3 of our doctors are imported and Americans who want to be doctors frequently have to resort to joining the military in order to be trained? We should have a doctor on every corner, competing with each other." [1] -- The above quotation is an excerpt from a recent article regarding the economics of health care reform. My aim here is not to dispute those views but to expand upon them. The article cited above makes some key points regarding what economists call "perfect competition", specifically "many buyers and sellers" and "freedom of entry and exit". In addition to all the screaming and yelling about moral and ethical issues, if the American people would approach the health care debate from a truly "free-market" economic perspective, there probably wouldn't be anything left to "debate". This is a delusion. -- Obama represents the same ideology of American "exceptionalism" as other recent presidents. This ideology designates the United States as The Virtuous Nation and supplies the basis for the belief that America has the right, indeed the responsibility, to impose its hegemony upon the world by bribery or by force. The claim of American exceptionalism produces a form of patriotism that blinds the US population to the immorality of America’s wars of aggression."

Transatlantic airline plot: The case that “couldn’t be allowed to fail”

Afghanistan by the Numbers - Measuring a War Gone to Hell

Imagine, for a moment, when you read about the multi-millions going into further construction at Bagram Air Base, or to the mercenary company that provides "Lord of the Flies" hire-a-gun guards for American diplomats in massive super-embassies, or about the half-a-billion dollars sunk into a corrupt and fraudulent Afghan election, what a similar investment in our own country might have meant." -- also posted at Uruknet & AftrDwngSt & CommonDreams

AFP says that 10 Iraqi army personnel and one policeman were killed and ten others wounded. Landay's powerful, Hemingwayesque account of the ambush reveals the flinty violence and casual betrayal that beset the US/NATO mission in those godforsaken hills. The Ganjgal elders whom the Afghan army personnel asked for consultations on allowing the establishment of a government police station may have tipped the Taliban; or the tip may have come from one of the Afghan officers, serving as a double agent. We saw hundreds of such incidents in Vietnam, and for the same reasons-- nationalism trumps foreign intervention."

An American conspiracy in Iran? What American conspiracy in Iran?
The Saban Center  - Options for a New American Strategy toward Iran - PDF
Full quote...."June 2009 -- "The United States could play multiple roles in facilitating a revolution. By funding and helping organize domestic rivals of the regime, the United States could create an alternative leadership to seize power. As Raymond Tanter of the Iran Policy Committee argues, students and other groups “need covert backing for their demonstrations. They need fax machines. They need Internet access, funds to duplicate materials, and funds to keep vigilantes from beating them up.”52 Beyond this, U.S.-backed media outlets could highlight regime shortcomings and make otherwise obscure critics more prominent. The United States already supports Persian language satellite television (Voice of America Persian) and radio (Radio Farda) that bring unfiltered news to Iranians (in recent years, these have taken the lion’s share of overt U.S. funding for promoting democracy in Iran).53 U.S. economic pressure (and perhaps military pressure as well) can discredit the regime, making the population hungry for a rival leadership." Possible October surprises
Must Read - A quote...."Perpetual motion machines being impossible in the physical world, one's natural skepticism supposes them to be impossible in the economic world. Hence the adverse effects of excessive money creation and budget deficits must either be delayed or be appearing in some novel form, so that observers looking for a repetition of the 1970s do not spot them. -- As soon as the problem is posed in this way, the evidence becomes obvious. Commodities prices are far higher in real terms than they were at the top of the 2000 boom, while gold is on the verge of breaking through its record high and soaring into unknown territory. In itself, that makes no economic sense; in a deep recession such as the current one, where markets are allegedly fearful of deflation, commodities and gold prices should be extremely weak."

Gold Jumps to 18-Month High on Weaker US Dollar, Inflation Outlook
It's too early for inflation, especially in the US-NRE which still appears to be in a deflationary death spiral.  More likely gold and other commodities are going up because of all that loose money (we'll just call it Bernanke's commodities bubble) which is causing some weakness in the dollar, (you'd think it would implode, but it never does).  But, given past actions in the markets, if the world economy starts to take another tumble, which is VERY likely, the dollar will go up even if the US-NRE’s economy has completely collapsed.  Something no one has yet explained to anyone’s satisfaction besides using the vague term of “safe haven buying”, what this website editor likes to call “rushing toward an implosion”.  But again perhaps that’s why the Chinese are making arrangements to get out of the dollar, they know all this short term stimulus isn’t going to work, and they’re tired of rushing to buy dollars and US bonds only to see Bernanke smirk like good’ol George and print even more.  They want off this crazy merry-go-round. - mpg

Anatomy Of American Ignorance - Part 2 -- And Part 1

While the President continues his efforts to reach some kind of farcical “bipartisan” agreement with people who continue to call and pray for his death, the people who actually  risked their lives to get him elected are rapidly losing their patience - and so am I. In the brief six month or so since his election, this president hasn't missed a single opportunity to sacrifice the desires of the electorate on the altar of the Corporation, and certainly this embarrassing healthcare reform debacle is yet another prime example. The demands of the people to see accountability for a decade of stolen elections, accountability for the home grown crime of 9-11, accountability for the destruction of privacy, accountability for the destruction of constitutional rights, accountability for torture, an end to the war crime in Iraq, an end to the war crime in Afghanistan, and a host of other malignancies in this country, have all been summarily dismissed by this president in the typical American manner of denial. Imperialism and Financialism
Special Note - A quote...."The reasoning here goes back to the basic Marxist distinction between ‘industrial’ activity on the one hand and ‘commercial’ and ‘financial’ activities on the other. The former activity is considered ‘productive’ in that it generates surplus value and leads to the accumulation of ‘actual’ capital. The latter activities, by contrast, are deemed ‘unproductive’; they don’t generate any new surplus value and therefore, in and of themselves, do not create any ‘actual’ capital. --  This distinction – which most Marxists accept as sacrosanct – has important implications for the nexus of imperialism and financialism. It is true, say the advocates of the new script, that finance (along with other forms of waste) helps the imperial core absorb its rising surplus – and in so doing prevents stagnation and keeps accumulation going. But there is a price to pay. The addiction to financial waste ends up consuming the very fuel that sustains the core’s imperial position: it hollows out the core’s industrial sector, it undermines its productive vitality, and, eventually, it limits its military capabilities. The financial sector itself continues to expand absolutely and relatively, but this is the expansion of a ‘red giant’ (our term) – the final inflation of a star ready to implode." -- Or as Marx once said.....

"[To the possessor of money capital] “the process of production appears merely as an unavoidable intermediate link, as a necessary evil for the sake of money-making. All nations with a capitalist mode of production are therefore seized periodically by a feverish attempt to make money without the intervention of the process of production.”—  *Karl Marx*, Capital, Volume II, “The Circuit of Money Capital”

By the way, the author in the above article comes to the conclusion that "financialization" occurred in the rest of the world before the US-NRE based on his fourth chart showing the percentage of "profits" for financial firms in the rest of the world were higher that those in the US-NRE.  First, why is the author using "profits" at financial firms as a comparison, why not total nominal dollars changing hands in a given day for  financial products versus those for "real" goods and services actually "produced"?  Second, the fact that "financial firms" charge higher percentages in developing economies due to the higher risks involved in lending is well known.  Third, given that the world's GDP is roughly fifty to sixty trillion per year, and derivative contracts currently outstanding are estimated to be between six hundred trillion and 1.3 quadrillion, most of which were created and sold to the rest of the world by the US-NRE to support its various imperial adventures abroad, and much of which are now utterly worthless, it's hard to believe the author's conclusion that it wasn't the US-NRE who started the process of “financialization” in the first place in order to save it's own imperial neck. But the rest of the article was just great! - mpg

Wall Street To Securitize People's Deaths?
Special Note - Death Warning -- Hey look, another article regarding "financialization"....'nuff said. - mpg -- A quote...."The New York Times published a pretty creepy article on Saturday (September 5th). The article focuses on Wall Street's new plan to make money. What's so bad about Wall Street making money? -- Well, their new plan is to buy life insurance plans from elderly and sick people for cash. The example that the New York Times gives is someone selling a million dollar policy for a $400,000 payout, but the payout amount would all depend on the seller's life expectancy. These "life settlements" would then be bundled together to form bonds that can be sold to investors. The investors would start paying for the person's policy from then on. When the person dies, the investors collect on the policy. Apparently, the faster the person dies, the more money the investors make." -- By the way people, it would therefore be in Wall Street's and this nation’s elites' financial interests to have more of you die at a higher rate.  As in no public health care plan, as in more swine flu that "suddenly" becomes mutated and more lethal, as in vaccines that don't work, or even kill you, as in another, more masive, biological or nuclear false flag event....to all you sheeple out there, here’s a question for you, are the hairs on the back of you collective necks starting to stand on end?  You’ve been warned! – mpg -- also posted at BLN & DProgram

America is a “Failed Democracy": Its People want Peace, and its Elected Officials make War

It continues to suck precious tax dollars out of the Treasury, money this country cannot afford to squander, especially as millions of Americans are sinking into poverty and joblessness exceeds ten percent. Writing in USA Today last March 10th, Susan Page reported, “In one year, 24 million slide from ‘thriving’ to ‘struggling’ and “Some fear that the American dream may be in peril as well.” Worse, the U.S. is turning poverty-plagued Afghanistan, a long-suffering nation of 25 million souls into another Iraq, perhaps even another Viet Nam. But, first, let us concede the greatness of the man.  In that finest hour of the British nation, 1940, Winston Churchill was indomitable, an inspiration to men everywhere.  He was the Lion who gave Britain’s roar of defiance in the face of Hitler’s Germany.  For that, he will be honored by peoples everywhere — and forever.  —  And if we judged him on that year alone, there would be no debate.  There would be unanimity.  —  But Churchill’s career did not last a single year.  It lasted half a century.  And, over that half century, no other career of a Western statesman was more calamitous for his country and his civilization than that of Winston Spencer Churchill." -- also posted at PJB

During the last few months, village residents have been the victims of constant night invasions by the Israeli military. The goal of these raids is to crush the village's campaign of nonviolent resistance to the confiscation of their land. " - underline by website editor

Everyone should also be aware Israel's actions are designed to provoke a violent response.  The Israelis want an excuse to murder more people because nothing pleases a bully with a gun more than pistol whipping someone who doesn't have one. "He wants you to try and get physical and defend yourself, so he can have the 'pleasure' of shooting you.  So he can feel proud of what he's done".

It's just the way they are, they're cowards and have been down throughout history and if the Palestinians want to survive as a people and have a homeland, they'll have to understand that's how the Israelis think, they will always attack the weak and defenseless.

What's even worse than their propensity for bullying and rank, craven, cowardice however is the fact they can't even do their bullying on their own, they have to have the unstinting, constant and massive support of a super power before they can beat up on an already occupied and practically defenseless people. It is their nature to be this cowardly and it is a part of their national character they cannot change

They will always hate themselves for who they are, no matter how many additional people they murder or lands they steal. – mpg

Rate Hike Expectations Plunge From 58.1% To 1.5%; For First Time Ever, Some Anticipate A Negative Fed Fund Rate -- Deflation Alert - A quote...."Market speculators have now officially written off inflation: the most recent survey of Fed Fund Rate expectations indicates that the percentage of people expecting a hike to 0.5% at the December 16, 2009 FOMC meeting has plunged from 58.1% in March to 1.5% currently. And the opposite of inflation is deflation: just ask Treasuries. Furthermore, while exactly 0% had expected the EOY rate to be at 0% in March, almost a third of the market now believes this is the case. And, most shockingly, a solid 0.1% actually sees the Fed as having a negative 0.25% rate: whether this is a misprint based on futures data is unclear, however, it would be a very amusing outcome and with QE gradually ending, this may be the very, very last bullet in Chairman Ben's gun in his ongoing duel with the currency that he so desperately wants dead."

When the target was Bush in Crawford, she was all the rage with antiwar celebrities, but not so now that the target is Barack Obama. While there is considerable enthusiasm for her anti-Obama protest on the part of the rank and file in the anti-war movement, a refusal of its “leaders” to notify their members far and wide, high and low, crippled the action.

Assassination in Afghanistan: The Taliban's Big Get

Then he switched sides, grew a beard and joined the Islamic warriors of the mujahedin. When the Americans chased out the Taliban, the ever adaptable Laghmani volunteered his unique set of skills to the new rulers of Kabul. The TC-6 mines "continue to pose a significant threat to Coalition Forces", JIEDDO said. -- The combining of two or three anti-tank mines into a single, more destructive bomb would account for the increased lethality of the anti-tank mines being used by the Taliban. -- The claim by the alleged Taliban commander of new, more effective weaponry supplied by Iran appears to have been deliberate misinformation for the Western press. -- British writer Jason Elliot, who has traveled extensively in Afghanistan since 1979, reported in a 2001 book "Min(d)ing Afghanistan" that the Italian-made TC-6 was the most commonly used anti-tank mine used in Afghanistan. The Firestorm Ahead

The United States was afraid of losing the vote, which would have meant that all US forces would have had to be out of Iraq by Dec. 31, 2010, one full year earlier than the theoretical date in the SOFA agreement. -- The United States thought it was very clever in persuading al-Maliki to postpone this referendum to January 2010. Now it will be held in conjunction with the national elections. In the national elections, everyone will be seeking to obtain votes. No one is going to be campaigning in favor of a "yes" vote on the referendum. Lest this be in any doubt, al-Maliki is submitting a project to the Iraqi parliament that will permit a simple majority of "no" votes to annul the agreement. There will be a majority of "no" votes. How Bad Will It Get?
Must Read - A quote...."September 03, 2009 "Information Clearing House" -- -The U.S. economy is at the beginning of a protracted period of adjustment. The sharp decline in business activity, which began in the summer of 2007, has moderated slightly, but there are few indications that growth will return to pre-crisis levels. Stocks have performed well in the last six months, beating most analysts expectations, but weakness in the underlying economy will continue to crimp demand reducing any chance of a strong rebound. Bankruptcies, delinquencies and defaults are all on the rise, which is pushing down asset prices and increasing unemployment. As joblessness soars, debts pile up, consumer spending slows, and businesses are forced to cut back even further. This is the deflationary spiral Fed chairman Ben Bernanke was hoping to avoid. Surging equities and an impressive "green shoots" public relations campaign have helped to improve consumer confidence, but the hard data conflicts with the optimistic narrative reiterated in the financial media. For the millions of Americans who don't qualify for government bailouts, things have never been worse."

No Economic Recovery in Sight: More Financial Chaos Ahead
Must Read - A quote...."Thus far there has been little recovery even with an official $23.7 trillion committed by the Treasury and the Fed. This number alone shows you how serious this situation is. The banking sector is still broke and is using TARP funds to buy out failing smaller banks. The residential TARP funds returned will go toward helping bail out the collapsing commercial real estate industry. Quantitative easing has not worked, nor has TARP and the endless stream of money from TALF. We are anxious to see if the FASB sticks to its guns and demands mark-to-market accounting. -- That will pull the cover off of the fraud known as mark-to-model, which really is mark to whatever you want it to be. China to buy $50B of IMF bonds
China is obviously desperate to get out of the US-NRE dollar, however the IMF is probably not the way to go, on the other hand it was the Chinese who were the ones to set this whole deal in motion with the IMF more than two years ago.  One would assume they have their reasons for trusting blood sucking loan sharks like the IMF with their money. - mpg -- A quote.... The looming political war over Afghanistan
Must Read - A quote...."There was a time, not all that long ago, when the U.S. pretended that it viewed war only as a "last resort," something to be used only when absolutely necessary to defend the country against imminent threats.  In reality, at least since the creation of the National Security State in the wake of World War II, war for the U.S. has been everything but a "last resort."  Constant war has been the normal state of affairs.  In the 64 years since the end of WWII, we have started and fought far more wars and invaded and bombed more countries than any other nation in the world -- not even counting the numerous wars fought by our clients and proxies.  Those are just facts.  History will have no choice but to view the U.S. -- particularly in its late imperial stages -- as a war-fighting state." -- also posted at CommonDreams

And it should be pointed out that the Vincennes captain, plus the officer in command of air warfare, and the crew were all awarded medals or ribbons afterward. 2 No one in the US government or media found this objectionable or outrageous, or disgusting or repulsive. >>> Syria's Refugees & US-NRE Hypocrisy <<<

Syria's Assad slams Iraq over "immoral" charges
Must Read - A quote...."Syria is accused of killing Iraqis although it welcomes 1.2 million Iraqis (refugees)," Assad said at a joint news conference with visiting Cyprus President Demetris Christofias. -- "Such accusations are immoral and political," he said. -- Iraq has accused Syria of sheltering suspects allegedly involved in one of two devastating truck bombings that targeted government ministries in Baghdad on Aug. 19, killing a total of 95 people and wounding 600. -- "When accusations are not based on any proof, this means they are illogical in the eyes of the law," Assad said, again calling on Iraq to present evidence about its allegations. -- "As soon as the accusations were made, Syria officially asked Iraq to send a delegation to Damascus with proof," he said. "So far we have not received any reply." -- For more on the possibility that Syria might be "sheltering" refugees who may be involved with the recent bomb attacks in Iraq, see the articles shown below. - mpg

IRAQ:  'Not Our Country To Return To'
A quote...."DAMASCUS, Mar 3 [2008] (IPS) - More Iraqis continue to flee their country than the numbers returning, despite official claims to the contrary.  --  Thousands fleeing say security is as bad as ever, and that to return would be to accept death.  --  "Return to Iraq?" asks 35-year-old Ahmed Alwan, an Iraqi engineer now working at a restaurant in Damascus. "There is no Iraq to return to, my friend. Iraq only exists in our dreams and memories."  --  The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) reported September last year that there are between 1.2 and 1.4 million Iraqi refugees in Syria alone.  --  Most, like Alwan, do not intend to return."  --  underline by website editor.

Oh, this is the perfect story to highlight the complete hypocrisy of our elites' glorious adventures in Iraq.

One) Remember all those thousands of stories trumpeted across this land describing how Iraqis were returning to their homes....they were all complete fabrications by our illustrious mass-media.  In other words, they lied to us again.

Two)  Syria has taken in 1.4 MILLION Iraqi refugees, the US, under our elites magnanimous generosity is trying (and failing) to admit twelve thousand this year, the best year ever if they can do it....WOW, this editor is at a loss for words, rendered speechless by this nation’s consideration for all those poor helpless Iraqis.

This country bombs Iraq for five long years, kills more than a million Iraqis, displaces five million more, and has been constantly threatening to bomb Syria, the very country now sheltering the 1.4 million Iraqis whom we were kind enough to drive out of there homes in the first place.  My aren’t WE a generous nation?  Awe inspiring isn't it? - mpg -- posted 02-03-08

Last Iraqi refugees leave Saudi Arabia
Syria is still hosting well over ONE MILLION Iraqi refugees, yet two members of the true axis of evil, the US (NRE) is hosting just a few tens of thousands, while the Saudi Royals are now hosting none.  Yet Syria, which is straining under the refugee load NEVER gets praised as a country, or as a people, or as a government, for what it has done all these years. Hardly any stories are ever written about the issue. How hypocritical, how typical, how smug.  The NRE is "good" for helping kill over a million Iraqis and displacing over five million more while Syria is never mentioned for sheltering many, if not most of them. Naturally the NRE and Israel (the third and final member of the axis of evil) want to bomb Syria....figures doesn't it. - mpg -- A quote...."The Rafah Refugee Camp in Saudi Arabia is now empty of its Iraqi refugees who had fled there during the 1991 Gulf War." -- posted 11-11-08

The United States New Roman Empire is a disgusting, sick, evil, depraved, twisted, country, peopled by sacks-of-shit that comport themselves like human beings. Syria has been hosting over a million Iraqi refugees for the last seven years with no help from anyone whatsoever.  All of these refugees were of course caused by the US-NRE's relentless campaign of bombing, which has destroyed Iraq's infrastructure along with many of Iraq's cities, the US-NRE's deliberate instigation of murderous sectarian feuds in Iraq in a cynical and vicious policy to divide and conquer that nation's people, and the complete destruction of Iraq's civil society making Iraq an uninhabitable hell hole and death trap for many of these refugees (mostly Sunni) to return home too (assuming they even have any homes to return too).  Obviously, it is quite probable that DURING THE LAST SEVEN YEARS, OUT OF OVER A MILLION REFUGEES, there might be a few who have supported their Sunni brethren in Iraq.

Well knock this website editor over with a feather duster, who would of thunk-it!

Wow, aren't our "elites" sooooooo smart?  Are they geniuses or what?!?!

Ouuuuuuu!!  "Drool, drool, hey Pa, hey Ma, we caught some'ol dem dare Syrians 'supporting' doze terr-row-rists over yonder, lets go git'em, hee hee, cackle cackle, snort, (wipe snot from nose, drool from mouth, scratch ass vigerously) Yes'em lets go kill us some more ol'dem A-rabs, com'on Pa, lets use dem BIG guns and do'em all".

We've got a real bunch of funny clowns over there in the White House and Pentagon.  And let's not pretend they didn't put Maliki up to it or even perhaps arrange the bombings themselves.

Juvenile, infantile, childish, stupid, jerk-ass, crap like this is what's been passing for international relations from the frat boys and girls currently running this government for well over a DECADE!  It's pathetic, it's immature, it's disgusting, it’s purile garbage (and they know it and obviously could care less) yet the citizens of this country continue to suck this stuff up and pay for it every year as they're taxed more and more for these wars of choice by this nation's "elites".

If the people in this country don't act soon to remove these idiots from power, if they continue to go into the polling booth to waste their vote by casting it for a DemoRepub, they can expect a LOT MORE moronic crap like this in the future.  It's your choice folks.  If you like this stuff, just go ahead and keep right on voting for DemoRepubs. - mpg
