Lebanon battles a new demon
War Update - A quote...."Fatah al-Islam comes out guns blazing Fatah al-Islam, or the new al-Qaeda as some are calling it, was established last November by guerrillas who had grown disenchanted with the increasingly pro-Syrian line of Fatah al-Intifada. That in turn is a splinter group of the late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's Fatah movement, founded in the 1960s in Kuwait and which currently is heading its own war against Hamas in the occupied territories. - bold/italics by website author

Now just how silly can people get.  If anyone wants to know why this group is popping up right now....simply "follow the money".  About six months ago the US signaled to Saudi Arabia that it would be a good idea if they could increase their support to radical Islamic groups, primarily to battle the Syrians and Hezbollah.  See.....The Redirection .  This is just one more example of US "constructive instability" in action. - mpg

Guardian at the Gates: Surging Toward War With Iran
War Warning - A quote...."If you have any doubt that the Bush Administration is planning a military strike against Iran, then check out the lead story in today's Guardian: Iran's secret plan for summer offensive to force US out of Iraq. The story, which based entirely -- entirely -- on the unchallenged statements of three anonymous "American officials," not only alleges that Iran is "already committing daily acts of war against US and British forces" -- including the increasing mortar attacks on the Green Zone -- but also asserts that Tehran has entered into an active military alliance with al-Qaeda."

The document states that Baxter, who was to appear before a congressional committee to testify on Enron's dubious business practices, died from a reported suicide on January 18, 2002. China and USA in New Cold War over Africa’s Oil Riches - Darfur? It’s the Oil, Stupid...
A quote...."The case of Darfur, a forbidding piece of sun-parched real estate in the southern part of Sudan, illustrates the new Cold War over oil, where the dramatic rise in China’s oil demand to fuel its booming growth has led Beijing to embark on an aggressive policy of—ironically-- dollar diplomacy. With its more than $1.3 trillion in mainly US dollar reserves at the Peoples’ National Bank of China, Beijing is engaging in active petroleum geopolitics. Africa is a major focus, and in Africa, the central region between Sudan and Chad is priority. This is defining a major new front in what, since the US invasion of Iraq in 2003, is a new Cold War between Washington and Beijing over control of major oil sources. So far Beijing has played its cards a bit more cleverly than Washington. Darfur is a major battleground in this high-stakes contest for oil control. "

Sadr's political followers are distancing themselves from the fragile Shiite-led government of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, which is widely criticized as corrupt, inefficient and biased in favor of Iraq's majority Shiites. Look its real simple.  You don't get to have a "fortuitous" attack sponsored by your rich friends which kills three thousand Americans, than using that attack as a pretext, along with a massive series of outright lies, bomb, invade and occupy a country, killing upwards of a million of its citizens while displacing upwards of four million others and after all that expect to take their oil.

It doesn't work that way.  Actions like that are called home invasion, robbery and murder.  We don't usually reward people who do that in this country nor should we reward those who do it overseas.

It's really that simple.

So earth to the MIOC elites in the US....It's the Iraqis oil, it belongs to them, get a grip on that concept, get a grip on reality, get a grip on yourselves.....and JUST LEAVE! - mpg

Navy lawyer convicted of leaking Guantanamo names
A quote.... A military jury recommended that a Navy lawyer spend six months in prison and be dismissed from the service for sending a human rights attorney the names of 550 Guantanamo Bay detainees in an unmarked Valentine's Day card.  -  Lt. Cmdr. Matthew Diaz was convicted Thursday at his court martial of communicating secret information about Guantanamo Bay detainees that could be used to injure the United States and three other charges of leaking information to an unauthorized person."

It is the nature of the "New Roman Order" to punish all those with a conscience in this country.  By it's judgment, by it's inability to differentiate between right and wrong, by it's non-compliance with the Geneva conventions, the court in it's wisdom is making an explicit, although unstated, determination that the men and woman serving in this nation’s armed forces are nothing more than unthinking organic components of America's Military-Industrial-Oil-Complex and are placed here on this earth, without conscience, or humanity, or any decent respect for the opinions of mankind, for the sole use and service of this nation's wealthiest elites.

Bravo judges, bravo.  What a proud day for military jurisprudence - mpg

Anyway, explain this to me: Among all the exceptional things we claim to do, how come we never take credit for what may be the most exceptional of all, our success of successes, the thing that makes us uniquely ourselves on this war-ridden planet -- peddling more arms to Earthlings than anyone else in the neighborhood? Scores of heavily armed Afghan troops and fighters from special border police units – determined, professional and evidently spoiling for a fight – gathered around their senior officers for orders. Ron Paul recite the reasons for Arab and Islamic resentment of the United States, including 10 years of bombing and sanctions that brought death to thousands of Iraqis after the Gulf War, Rudy Giuliani broke format and exploded: "

Editor’s note:  Terrorism against civilians is never justified, although people's hatreds lead them to forgo their humanity and in their unthinking rage allow themselves to become tools of the wealthy elites and conduct unjustified acts, this is precisely why terrorism and the unthinking rage that powers it should be condemned.  The people of the Middle East have been viciously manipulated for almost sixty years by the powers that be, those who practice "the white mans burden" and those who service them.  They've allowed their religion and their humanity to be deliberately distorted and perverted by some of their own countryman and the western elites who support them for the furtherance of the "Great Game".

Terrorist attacks are not just accidents, they do not just spontaneously happen, mountains of evidence are available which show that 9/11, 7/11 and several other brutal acts of recent public "perception management" were promoted, sponsored and encouraged by active "Nation State" participation.  These states, listed in order of their importance for the funding and tactical support of terrorist groups, are as follows....the United States of America, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Britain.  Although it is primarily the wealthy elites of these nations that sponsor these attacks, or to put it more politely "allow them to happen", their endeavors to create "constructive instability" are also knowingly supported by millions of their fellow citizens.

There is only one solution to this problem, these people, the corporations who back them, and the newspapers who trumpet their lies must be shunned......forever. The Rupert Murderers et. al. must not be supported; there can be no forgiveness for them because they will not change.  They are simply automatons, automatic reflex machines designed for profit and wealth accumulation.  Their God is money which they worship above all else including human life and they will sacrifice every decent human impulse, moral prohibition, promise, covenant or law to worship their God.

It is simply stupid, silly and downright dangerous to do business with these elites, to engage in commerce or conversation with them, to vote for their lackeys, to allow them into your countries or your homes.  Any one who does so is simply inviting death in one form or another to cross your threshold.

Everyone knows who these people are, everyone knows who their front man are, everyone must make a personal choice for their own safety and that of their children to never again deal with these people. We must all boycott their businesses', discontinue our subscriptions, stop listening to their broadcasts, and never buy a product or a lie from them EVER again. - mpg

KZ: And, from the perspective of the world, isn't the American empire a good thing?  Don't we bring stability and democracy to the world?  Wouldn't the world be a more violent place without us? Wouldn't there be more poverty, disease and income disparity?

TP: From the perspective of the rest of the world, the American Empire is not a good thing – it is a curse.  It deserves resistance, opposition, and overthrow.  Why?  Because it is a thing – a creation divorced from law and the moral codes of the teachings of all of the world's great religious traditions.  - bold/italics by website author.

The end of the affair in a relationship gone sour

Britain: The Guardian whitewash of Mr Blair
Related article - A quote...."The cloying nostalgia, mild rebuke and genuine sense of loss that pervades much of the commentary by Britain’s Guardian newspaper on the imminent departure of Prime Minister Tony Blair are hard to stomach.  -  Blair leaves the office of prime minister reviled by the majority of the British public and viewed by many as a war criminal for his part in the invasion and occupation of Iraq. A poll by Populus for the London Times, on the evening he announced his June departure, for example, found that nearly three fifths of all voters, and a third of Labour supporters, think that he “lied to the country over Iraq, and that overshadows everything else he has done, and tried to do, as Prime Minister.”

Afghan battle lines become blurred
A quote....A lot of homework had obviously gone into the initiative. Afghan leaders, with their native wisdom, estimated that the war was going nowhere and that the chance of "victory" by the US, which was never good, had probably passed. They saw ahead that the superpower, which arrived full of hubris, might well depart humbled. They wished to be on call when the time came.  -  Of course, it was apparent to anyone that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization was a divided house and that the United States' old European allies didn't share its apparent intention to turn Afghanistan into a client state under a NATO flag from where US power projection into the Persian Gulf and the Middle East and South Asia and Central Asia would become possible."

The fighting in Gaza is a foreign plan being executed by collaborators
A quote...."The fighting in Gaza between Hamas and rogue elements in Fatah was planned beforehand under US supervision and is being executed by mercenaries of the occupation, said the AMB, the armed wing of Fatah.  -  The Armed Struggle and Right of Return wing in the AMB said in a statement that the aim of the Israeli occupation government is "for us to forget our main aim and get busy with fighting one another through plans supervised by Condoleezza Rice and General Dayton through the Mossad and Shabak and their cohorts who follow blindly."

Well yeah.......playing Muslims off against each other has been "the blood sport of kings" in the western world for quite awhile.  It's a time honored tradition that Britain, the US and Israel have feted for the last sixty years by making propitious sacrifices of - you guessed it -  lots and lots of Muslims.  One would think the entire Muslim world would be tired of this by now, perhaps the “little people” are but obviously many of their "leaders" aren't, at least not yet. - mpg

Venezuela's Supreme Court dismisses challenge by TV station set to lose license
A quote...."CARACAS, Venezuela: Venezuela's Supreme Court has dismissed a challenge by an opposition-aligned television station seeking to remain on the air despite the government's decision not to renew its license.  -  The Supreme Court of Justice, in a decision announced late Thursday, declared inadmissible the challenge by Radio Caracas Television and its top executive Marcel Granier. The ruling is a setback for RCTV, a channel critical of President Hugo Chavez that is due to go off the air at midnight May 27 when the government says its license expires.

This is terrible, it's absolutely awful - the wealthy elites in Venezuela weren't able to buy off Venezuela's Supreme Court!  What is the world coming to when you can't buy a judge?  Imagine if our Supreme Court hadn't been bought during the 2000 elections....one shudders to think of what might have happened, Gore could have conceivably  been elected President if the Court had actually let the votes be counted.....and than were would we be as a nation - think about it. - mpg

The Strategy of Tension
Must Read - A quote...."Western anti-terror legislation does not allow the state to be considered in any way culpable for terrorist activities. As far as our elected representatives are concerned, terrorism is a problem of loosely associated groups of reactionary fanatics “attacking our freedoms”. The assumption, never explicitly stated for then it would be revealed, and easily and permanently ridiculed, is that the state is innocent, immune to indulging in such barbaric practices. Written into the rule of law itself, this assumption posits the state as a paternal Fuhrer, a God figure whom we must all entrust our lives and liberties to."

Russia draws Europe into its orbit

It was an assessment long in coming. The People's Daily commented, "As the Russian economy grows stronger, the US simply cannot sit back and relax. It must continue to contain the nation to prevent it from rising again. By deploying its national missile defense system in Poland and the Czech Republic, Washington is no doubt targeting Russia ... the likelihood of a new arms race will increase dramatically ... the possibility of another cold war does exist."
